The protesting apostles in scripture


I remember reading in scriptures about the times the apostles were picketing the Roman Empire. Their vivid stories retelling the anger they displayed while protesting the decisions Caeser was making. The disdain and disrespect in their words when they were bad mouthing the Royal Guard. The viciousness they walked in while lashing out at other Christians that believed differently than them and counseled that they should walk in love and forgiveness, and refused to go along with their mean-spirited attacks on the lost.

Wait, no I don’t.

When I recall what I read in scripture, and in history, that actually sounds like something the Pharisees would do, and did, and they paid the price for it in AD70.

I guess some people never learn from other’s mistakes.

The interesting thing is that very similar statements as in this article at Creation.com, http://creation.com/will-cornick-murders-teacher?utm_media=email&utm_source=infobytes&utm_content=us&utm_campaign=emails , were made by an American Sniper , and they seem to be perfectly fine and acceptable, and even "Christians" support them. Quite disturbing to witness recently if you ask me. John Piper hates Game of Thrones?

  I've figured out the real reason John Piper of Desiring God doesn't like Game of Thrones .   Although it is fantasy, historically many of the dark themes and events of the show and books have happened in past times. The past ages of this world have been filled with a kind of sickness, disease, killing, raping, abuses, slavery, etc. that our events pale in comparison to.   Mr. Piper knows that if people actually realize how dark and full of death the middle ages and other times in  history were they would have no choice but to abandon using events in the modern age to defend their "the sky is falling, every hiccup is God's judgment" eschatology because they'd see how much better the world is now than at any other time in history.   The secondary fallout from this revelation, excuse the pun, would be that it would take $$$ out of the pockets of these doom and gloom end times harbinger writers and preachers.
