War?

Image
Followers of Christ that believe that Christians are in some kind of war...   Your theology is all messed up.   Followers of Christ are to be a welcome party to the Kingdom, not some kind of soldier, Rambo, warrior against everyone of other sexual orientation, religion, etc.   Look, don't get caught up in that end times, fear filled rhetoric, all their "sign of the times" posts are bogus.   Their blood moons was kaka, their harbinger was bovine excrement. Their picking of any negative event and claiming God is judging is bad use of scripture.   They use OT scriptures from a people that didn't see God (Jesus' own words not mine) and twist it to apply to people in a new covenant. That's ignorance at its finest.   You are too smart for that, your heart is too big for that, don't let them cage your heart. Listen to your heart, your heart tells you that they are teaching wrong things, devoid of Love, devoid of Jesus, trust yourself.   Don't let them take...

I apologize

Image
I'm glad that I have found a lot of friends on social media and blogs that are willing to ask the hard questions, discuss them, accept where God leads in them, and are willing to share their walk with a fearlessness, willing to stand up to any backlash. This last week a singer, Dan Haseltine of Jars of Clay, learned the hard way what happens when the church is against you, simply by ASKING QUESTIONS. For wanting to learn, for wanting to gro w, for wanting to make sure they have all the information. A man was attacked for doing the mature thing and seeking truth, seeking wisdom, not just following something he felt he didn't know enough about blindly. I guess now he felt how the marginalized people the church attacks on a daily basis feel. This is the type of stuff I point out in the church because it's a plague. If your underarm area smells, you take a shower and clean the area, you don't just keep spraying deodorant on it for years. Well the church needs...

The genealogy of Jesus

Image
When you study the genealogy of Jesus and notice that he has prostitutes in his bloodline, women who got their father drunk and had sex with him committing incest, murderers, adulterers, people not of Israelite bloodlines, people who had pre-marital sex, and other people who have done pretty wild things, you realize a lot of quite interesting things. But I'm just going to share two of the most obvious things here: 1 ) Based on His "family" He probably doesn't give 2 farts about your past, and your "family", so don't let that hinder you from turning to Him. And, don't let that disqualify you in your mind from being able to do some big things for Him. 2 ) I think that kind of crushes the ignorant theology of generational curses, because He'd have had been in a ton of trouble from the start. But proper reading of scripture should have settled that in your mind already.

In union

Image
FYI, we are in union with Jesus, not our theology. If more understood that, maybe when people disagree over theology they wouldn't take it personal.

Theology?

Image
the·ol·o·gy noun \thÄ“-ˈä-lÉ™-jÄ“\  : the study of religious faith, practice, and experience : the study of God and God's relation to the world : a system of religious beliefs or ideas : an excuse to treat others with utter disrespect and the utmost contempt lacking of any and all good manners with the belief that your deity approves your destructive, disgusting, ungodly behavior

Adulterous relationship

Image
I've found that many of Jesus' brides are having an adulterous relationship with their theology based on how they act when faced with a disagreement over beliefs.

Doctrinal traditions of man

Image
Christians have to remember when it comes to their theology that many of their doctrines could actually be traditions of man or interpretations influenced by their own emotions, thoughts, or biases. We can also affect our interpretation or doctrines by how we envision God, that's why it's important to have a correct view of God as Father not as destroyer, or you will color that image into all that  you read, Holy Spirit or not. There have been various revelations as time progressed since the writing of scripture, some true, some not so. To be so close-minded and dogmatic about your beliefs without acknowledging that your beliefs may in fact not be as accurate as you believe them to be does Jesus a disservice. That is why we must be always open to learn, but in that same respect if things are centered around killing, stealing, or destroying, we should really take pause before receiving that as truth. Yes, I know, our walk is by faith, that includes faith in our beliefs, but...

Christian suicide? Why?

Image
I hear more and more about Christians committing suicide, lately it's been a few pastors and it's very upsetting.  This is very sad, and it's not a time you want to be disrespectful or use something as awful as this as a platform but I believe that many Christians that suffer from depression, many are suffering because of their theological beliefs or the doctrines they believe.  I have heard a f ew of the core beliefs of those who have committed suicide and it saddens me. It saddens me for them, their families, their friends, but also for those that are under them. They typically are preaching mixture or against Grace. I have been reading a few books on toxic thoughts and beliefs and I have learned in my own life and times of depression and attacks of suicidal thoughts that the core thoughts and beliefs really were the key. When you believe God is the source of your troubles, to chasten you, to build you up, to humble you, to take you to a new level, whatever other nons...
