Some men's hypocrisy has no bounds

Image
I have a perfect example of American Christianity™, Hobby Lobby President Steve Green has planned to open a "Bible museum" with a price tag of 400 million, http://www.relevantmagazine.com/slices/400-million-museum-bible-now-under-construction-washington-dc . This is the company that sells Chinese made trinkets that are of no real value to millions of Christians and spiritualists. They also were engaged in litigation regarding "birth control" in their government required healthcare programs. Now it's already been pointed out China's horrific human rights record, as well as the ir forced abortion record, and it seemed at the time quite hypocritical of Hobby Lobby, to have such a stance when they send m[b]illions into China's economy, but of course American Christians™ don't care about facts when they are screaming of their imaginary persecution, so American Christians™ defended Hobby Lobby. But with this new action by their president I just h...

Read your bible... The right way.

Image
I think a slightly better tagline would be read the bible in light of the finished work of Christ, the law of love, the Holy Spirit, and using right division. There are 43,000 denominations that all share the same bible, the kkk uses the bible, and various other cults, and usually what has infected their interpretations are not believing, or knowing, that the work of Jesus made a difference, not using a lens of love by not understanding that the number one attribute of their God is Love, letting their own emotions or biases lead them to interpret things a certain way, which usually is in a manner to read into it that their god hates the same people they seem to hate, or is a task master like their earthly father or early influences were, and not knowing the who, what, why, and when regarding a particular scripture. Mix that in with a little bit of believing that someone with letters behind their name knows more, when they simply were taught the specific theology of what the coll...

Bringing heaven to earth

Image
How are Christians supposed to bring heaven to earth, when that ultimately encompasses bringing peace to earth and walking in peace on earth, when they are utterly obsessed and devoted to waging war? It's a real conundrum, I tell ya.  The question that some should be asking themselves is "why perfectly reflect an oxymoron when you have the ability to be a perfect reflection of Christ?"

What is your understanding of satan?

Image
1 Chronicles 21:1 was written approximately 400-500 years after 2 Samuel 24:1. It began to be revealed to the Israelites who satan was and the power he had. They began to see how his actions were not determined, used, nor "allowed" by God. This was further revealed by Christ in scriptures. This is what led to an earlier scripture attributing an action to God and a latter attributing it rightly t o satan. This is not something that requires a PHD in theology, yet many with PHDs don't recognize this. If you simply research the Jewish beliefs you see what they were, and you see how they still influence Christianity today in a negative way. As a prominent Rabbi writes: It is very important to understand the difference between the Jewish understanding of Satan and the Christian understanding of Satan. First of all, in doing a quick search of the Hebrew and Christian bibles, we find a remarkable difference. In the Jewish bible (Tanakh), we find three separate refer...

"ism"?

Image
It is unfortunate that people are so quick to label someone and place an "ism" on a person.  I've had people post "antinomianism" on my page, I'm not part of any "ism", but I do study both early and current church history and beliefs and I pick and choose from many different views out of the bunch.  Sometimes we throw out the baby with the bath water when we label something we don't fully unders tand as outright heresy, without picking the meat and spitting out the bones. It's now gotten to the point where I have found that people have changed Salvation from a belief in who Christ is, what He did, and Him rising, to whether a person believes various other things or not. Surprisingly those other things must line up with the personal belief of the person questioning another's Salvation or they now no longer are saved. It's so silly, I tell ya.

Four reasons the early church did not believe "hell" lasts forever

Image
Very interesting read. It's worth noting that more and more of what the church fathers and writers of scripture believed is becoming more prominent in this age. I enjoy delving into that era. My friend Richard Murray, who can be found at his blog here, http://www.thegoodnessofgod.com/, with some great information: FOUR REASONS THE EARLY CHURCH DID NOT BELIEVE "HELL" LASTS FOREVER Today, many people disagree on how guilty criminals should be treated. Is the purpose of punishment, the argument goes, to rehabilitate the criminal by reforming his character? Or, rather, is the purpose of punishment to inflict eye-for-an-eye retaliation on the wrongdoer? Put another way, is our motive for punishment revenge or rescue? This same analysis can be applied to God's purpose for Hell. Is God's motive in allowing sinners to go to Hell a form of "revenge" upon the sinner, or is God's motive rather to ultimately "rescue" the sinner from his own fa...

Doctrinal traditions of man

Image
Christians have to remember when it comes to their theology that many of their doctrines could actually be traditions of man or interpretations influenced by their own emotions, thoughts, or biases. We can also affect our interpretation or doctrines by how we envision God, that's why it's important to have a correct view of God as Father not as destroyer, or you will color that image into all that  you read, Holy Spirit or not. There have been various revelations as time progressed since the writing of scripture, some true, some not so. To be so close-minded and dogmatic about your beliefs without acknowledging that your beliefs may in fact not be as accurate as you believe them to be does Jesus a disservice. That is why we must be always open to learn, but in that same respect if things are centered around killing, stealing, or destroying, we should really take pause before receiving that as truth. Yes, I know, our walk is by faith, that includes faith in our beliefs, but...

Don't believe in Jesus?

I'm writing this to my friends and people that don't believe in Jesus. I'm a Christian, so it's not hard to figure out my "core" beliefs. Unfortunately many have twisted and changed what the core beliefs of a Christian should be. With there being 43,000 different denominations out there it's pretty confusing for a non-believer to really know whether a Christian hates you or loves you. Unfortunate ly many that have added upon and added upon the core of what it means to be a disciple of Christ are the most vocal or receive the biggest platforms when it comes to media, because of this, those are the ones that seem to become unofficial spokespersons for Christians. It shouldn't be like that, but it happens. Christianity has bullied, and forced itself upon people. Christians have tried to legislate morality. Christians have behaved completely opposite of Christ. I apologize for that to unbelievers, but I want you to remember that beneath everything, Chri...

Overcomer or victim?

Image
As a believer you are an overcomer, you are not a victim. When you let a victim mentality infiltrate your mind you are forgetting who you are in Christ. No Christian should go through life with the impression that they are a victim, they are believing a lie. Put the snakes, scorpions, and power of the enemy under your feet.

Trust, Faith, or Fear?

Image
Deep down the reason that the majority of churches teach mixture is because they are scared to completely trust the Holy Spirit and Christ in someone. It leads   to a fear towards believing that someone actually has Christ in them and the Holy Spirit because they have become so focused on different external evidences and have based a true conversion by their own measurements and their own time frames. The evidence they do see, they question in fear, and it's a direct consequence of their own teachings. Their teachings make converts who learn to walk the walk, and talk the talk, but lack the substance. What they teach is not biblical, but they will manipulate scripture to support their teachings. They are filled with fear that if they taught Grace that people wouldn't measure up to their self imposed standards. Yet Grace is the only thing that will lead to a heart transplant. We know fear's place in Job's life and how satan was able to bring calamity into his lif...

What should reading scripture feel like?

Reading scripture should always lead you to feel good, feel hope, feel Christ pop off the pages. If anyone is teaching you that reading scripture is supposed to leave you feeling want, feeling oppressed, feeling guilt, they are preaching a false gospel.

Are you a new man or woman?

If you are a new man, a new creation in Christ, then why do you allow an accusation from your past to define you? There is only one accuser of the brethren. Stop worrying or thinking about what someone from the past throws in your face and take hold and believe the truth of who you are now in Christ. They cannot put Jesus' Blood back in His body and take Him off the cross with their accusations an d they can't take that Blood covering and forgiveness off of you either. You are not your past, you are innocent, you have been washed clean. Is that not what He says in His word? Let God be true and that accusing man a liar. Who cares if they don't understand or like it, you serve and trust God, not man or satan.

Occupy the Church... Find a Christ centered, Bible based Church... Call on the Lord to free you from your old life... Get on your knees and pray for this country and this world... That would make a real difference... And take a bath, hippie!!! j/k... Jesus is the only Messiah...
