Theocentric Musings

So many Christians bragging they would die for Christ lately, but yet most do a sub par job of living for Him. Being known by your Love, taking care of the poor, taking care of immigrants, helping the marginalized, being against war, being against death, being against racism, not standing with those who abuse their authority, being against genocide, loving your enemy, promoting non violence, these are all Jesus' message and I see little of American Christians™ actually displaying them. So instead of bragging about dying for Christ, actually intentionally live for Him! This country, and the world, would be a better place for it.

  My memory of 9/11. Of course everyone remembers where there were. I was in bed with my wife at the time. We had the news on, I was needing to get ready to go to work in a few. I didn't witness the first plane hit, but did see the 2nd plane hit. I knew at that moment it wasn't an accident. I immediately knew it was terrorists, Mid East terrorists, looking back I now know that the reason for my quick assumption was from the mass media indoctrination I was under at the time. I didn't really have a relationship with God at the time, so I was angry, I wanted to kill whomever was responsible. I wanted them all dead. You have to remember, I'm a military brat, I come from a huge military family, 13 aunts and uncles have served, cousins, my brother was a ARMY Ranger, he had served in Desert Storm, I went to enlist after high school but I failed the color test so that dashed my hopes of being a helicopter pilot in the ARMY, so to me that was my first go to, send the troops...

  It's always amusing when people renounce the fact that Jesus was against violence by saying when He said if someone "slaps your cheek, show them the other cheek," it was just related to insult, not physical violence.   The reason it's amusing is because just before saying the words they use to come to this strange conclusion by using mental gymnastics to defend their use of violence, and discount His meaning, He set up the message, and what He was speaking of, by very clearly r eferring directly to "an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth."   And that, my friend, can in no way, shape, or, form be looked at as referring to an insult, that is obviously a very real, and very physical, act against someone if you in fact know why that issue was addressed in the OT.   He also concludes by saying to love your enemies, and to pray for those who persecute you. As a believer you are an overcomer, you are not a victim. When you let a victim mentality infiltrate your mind you are forgetting who you are in Christ. No Christian should go through life with the impression that they are a victim, they are believing a lie. Put the snakes, scorpions, and power of the enemy under your feet.

You know, I realize that the enemy does attack us frequently, I will never, ever, say he doesn't, but I'm not far from being convinced that some go through much more spiritual warfare because they focus so much on spiritual warfare and it completely infiltrates and fills their beliefs to the point where their world revolves around spiritual warfare and they end up inadvertently opening a door to t hese attacks. I base this on the experience of focusing completely on God's love, peace, mercy, and grace and letting it so infiltrate and fill your beliefs to the point where you end up walking and living out a love, peace, mercy, and grace that most people, even Christians, don't understand or find confusing. Your whole world revolves around God's love, peace, mercy, and grace and no matter what comes against you, that's what manifests itself in your life and actions.

Satan is a master at mind games, but God is the creator of your mind. Shut the door to the thoughts or whispers of the enemy, God has given you the ability to.
