Soul eating belief systems must die.

Image
The worst thing I have witnessed is when a person with a caring personality, a huge heart, with love that overflows, a hope of helping marginalized people, and an empathetic soul, gets involved in religious, fear mongering, versions of Christianity and sucked into the false end times narrative, rotten eschatology, and exclusionary beliefs of American Christendom™. I weep for them, together with Jesus. It hits me so hard because I was in those same shoes not long ago, and I am so thankful that Jesus woke me up one day telling me to drop absolutely everything I was taught, and what I thought as a Christian I was supposed to believe, and only study His Love. He set me free from that addiction and bondage to hate and exclusion through the experience of learning He is a God of Love, only Love. People try to slander me and spread the lie that I attack fundamentalists, let me set the record straight, once and for all! I don't attack them, I love them, I was them aft...

Rushing to judgment

"One reason we rush so quickly to the vulgar satisfactions of judgment, and love to revel in our righteous outrage, is that it spares us from the impotent pain of empathy, and the harder, messier work of understanding.”― Tim Kreider

Holy Diversion program?

Image
It's funny the way some preach the gospel is like it's some Holy Diversion program. For those that don't know, in the legal system if you get convicted of a crime, or in the pre-trial phase they will sometimes offer a "diversion" program for an offender, where they go to some classes, do community service, or a variety of other things in lieu of going to jail or prison. People jump at the chance  simply because they don't want to go to jail, not because they necessarily want a change in their life or have it in their heart to help others, and definitely not for relationship building. I see not only preachers, but many Christians, preaching the gospel as a "get out of hell free" card or a Holy Diversion program. What a shame. It's insulting to what Jesus accomplished on the cross. I don't preach the gospel in this way. I preach the gospel as a powerful event that left not one stone unturned. I preach Father, Son, and Spirit. I don't spe...

This belief is toxic

I edited the names because I don't want to seem like I'm mocking them and I definitely have empathy and compassion for the family and friends of those involved, but I hate that people have been brainwashed to believe these kinds of lies about God. Some people say it helps them feel better to believe this nonsense, but lies are never good, especially not when they are about my Daddy. ****** ******* ** died from a major heart attack Tuesday night. His wife, ******* *******, says, "I guess the Good Lord wanted him... I wanted him too, but He won."
