American Christianity™ has to cling to the belief that Revelation and Jesus, speak about a future event and not the events of AD70. The reason being is that if they learned it relates to AD70 most of their theology falls apart and the Western Church would implode. Almost all of the supposed "prophets" would be found to be sham artists, all their hatred towards others could not be blamed on God, they would have to admit it's their own dark hearts, they would have to take responsi bility for their exclusionary behavior, one more sign of the darkness in their hearts, and they would have to admit that the "word from God" they always talk about is the cries of their own demented hearts wanting to murder billions and watch the suffering of those they don't like. So no, learning that the events relate to AD70 will never catch on in the Western Church or American Christianity™... It cant.

People keep sharing that if Arabs put down their weapons they would have peace with Israel, but if Israel put down its weapons there would be no Israel. How quickly people forget AD70. Those who dropped their weapons and fled for the hills per Jesus' advice all lived, from the oldest to the youngest. These survivors all dropped their weapons. They did the opposite of what many Christians think people should do in that circumstance. Those who didn't listen to Jesus' words, who behaved as many Christians think they should, who didn't trust His ways as the best ways, and didn't accept Him as the Messiah because He didn't conquer His enemies through war, ended up waging war and they picked up their swords and were all killed and thrown into Gehenna. They say history repeats itself, let's hope it's not true. But if you live be the sword you will eventually die by the sword. I remember reading in scriptures about the times the apostles were picketing the Roman Empire. Their vivid stories retelling the anger they displayed while protesting the decisions Caeser was making. The disdain and disrespect in their words when they were bad mouthing the Royal Guard. The viciousness they walked in while lashing out at other Christians that believed differently than them and counseled that they should walk in love and forgiveness, and refused to go along wit h their mean-spirited attacks on the lost. Wait, no I don’t. When I recall what I read in scripture, and in history, that actually sounds like something the Pharisees would do, and did, and they paid the price for it in AD70. I guess some people never learn from other’s mistakes.

I look at the happenings in this country with groups rising up and them and the government pointing guns at each other, and specifically the Christians that support these happenings and raising of said guns, and I see the Israelites in Jesus' time all over. Trying to overthrow the government, wanting to fight and go to war, wanting a Savior that gets all Rambo or medieval on someone's butt. It's like they aren't wise enough to have learned from what happened in AD70. Is it hard to imagine something like that happening all over again in this country? Jesus didn't come to overthrow the government, He came to change hearts. Drop your guns, and share the gospel, or pray for your government officials, and maybe you'd see real hope and change. I hate when people don't learn from history, or the bible for that matter.

I think it's interesting that in AD70 when Jerusalem fell in a very destructive fashion, that no Christians were harmed. God doesn't bring us to ruin, He delivers us from ruin
