Who do you really follow? Scripture, man, Jesus?

Image
It's very interesting that most that support inerrancy of scripture, say those that don't, "follow man". It's interesting because the majority of the beliefs in the modern church and American Christianity™ aren't from scripture they are teachings from names like Calvin, Darby, Anselm, Augustine, and others, including their local pastors. Those are men, by the way (and possibly some women). Look, please consider this, if you really have no idea of the history of why you believe what you believe, and you only believe it because you were taught it, then please take pause before making statements that infer that you have infallible knowledge about the subject being discussed. Do your homework first, and that means spending time studying church history. Now some people say that the Spirit confirms these things for them, that they don't need to study history. Well, lets try an experiment, how many of your beliefs does the Spirit not confirm? Seems to me...

So they sold their souls to the devil? You think...

Image
I apologize in advance for the use of the word "numbskull" and I do say it with more of an affectionate, yet stern, tone but.... For all the numbskulls out there, it is not possible to "sell your soul to the devil", the concept is from a German story, it is not biblical, never has been. So all the ministries that claim that different musicians, or politicians, or whomever else did such a thing are full of it. They are not speaking a message from Jesus or the Holy Spirit. Sheesh, the foolish stuff that infiltrates American Christianity™. Too bad this isn't the worst of it.

Read your bible... The right way.

Image
I think a slightly better tagline would be read the bible in light of the finished work of Christ, the law of love, the Holy Spirit, and using right division. There are 43,000 denominations that all share the same bible, the kkk uses the bible, and various other cults, and usually what has infected their interpretations are not believing, or knowing, that the work of Jesus made a difference, not using a lens of love by not understanding that the number one attribute of their God is Love, letting their own emotions or biases lead them to interpret things a certain way, which usually is in a manner to read into it that their god hates the same people they seem to hate, or is a task master like their earthly father or early influences were, and not knowing the who, what, why, and when regarding a particular scripture. Mix that in with a little bit of believing that someone with letters behind their name knows more, when they simply were taught the specific theology of what the coll...

Christian violence

Image
I've noticed something when it comes to Christians and violence. Many will already have decided through their own voices, the voices of their emotions, or the whispers of darkness that the use of violence is completely warranted and then they will search out scripture to support their view. Instead of... Listening for the voice of Jesus through the Holy Spirit guiding them to Peace, trusting Him to deliver them, and searching scripture to confirm His view.

Don't call the Holy Spirit a liar.

Image
If you pay attention, in scriptures Jesus healed in a variety of different ways. He had a habit, it seems, of healing various people in various different ways. It should give us pause when we look at a singular thing as a way to manifest healing or manifest miracles. I think people pigeonhole healing and miracles due to their reliance on scripture, rather than reliance on Christ in them and the Holy Spirit. The problem with relying on scripture alone regarding ways to heal, is as I mentioned, that Jesus healed in a variety of different ways. Jesus did so many miraculous things we don't even have record of all of them, yet we try to place limits because we don't read it in scripture. John wrote that there were so many more things that Jesus did. He said that the books of the world couldn't hold the accounts of them. So, simply looking to scripture as an example of how to walk in healing and miracles is not going to tell you the be all and end all of healing and miracl...

A Christian cancer has infected the body

Image
I was watching something recently and I found it very interesting. It was one of those elimination types of shows. On this particular show it was an artistic competition with 3 judges who would rate the artists' work and then make a decision on who would be the weakest artist to be put up for elimination. A certain artist on the show went up against another artist for elimination. Two of the artists not up for elimination were helping that other artist to defeat him and send him packing. The artist made a comment that the other artists needed 3 people to beat him because they “feared” him. That was his honest perception of the situation. The problem was that it was not only completely in error, but even sadder, that you could not convince him of his error. He was stuck believing a lie and nothing could convince him of the truth. You see, they wanted him gone because he was not pleasant to be around. He had a very abrasive personality. He suffered from a huge ...

National "day" of prayer? Day?

Image
It's great that it's the National Day of prayer and all, if that's your thing, but we are in union with Christ on the daily, 24/7/365, we can pray all day erryday. It's cool to promote a single day, but have we fallen short in promoting the truth of "Christ in me" and the indwelling Holy Spirit? I'm not against corporate prayer, or setting aside a day to pray, I have no beef with either of those things, but I feel that the church hasn't really been taught that prayer encompasses more than sitting on your knees, laying prostrate on the floor, with your eyes to the ground or to the sky. Nor has the church been taught that the prayer of a single righteous man is as powerful as the cries of a million. Some depend, yes depend, on every ministry on the internet, every pastor, every bishop, every elder, praying for them, with the ill-gotten wrong belief that their prayers don't have as much clout. A single Christian has the same Holy Spirit ...

Interesting

Image
In my experiences in this wonderful world I come upon interesting things. None more interesting than when the "holy spirit" (purposefully small h and small s) tells someone something regarding me that is completely and utterly wrong and o ff base. I hope they don't sell their services online or speak their jibber jabber to their friends. But hey, at least some people have an active imagination. That counts for something, doesn't it?

Don't believe in Jesus?

I'm writing this to my friends and people that don't believe in Jesus. I'm a Christian, so it's not hard to figure out my "core" beliefs. Unfortunately many have twisted and changed what the core beliefs of a Christian should be. With there being 43,000 different denominations out there it's pretty confusing for a non-believer to really know whether a Christian hates you or loves you. Unfortunate ly many that have added upon and added upon the core of what it means to be a disciple of Christ are the most vocal or receive the biggest platforms when it comes to media, because of this, those are the ones that seem to become unofficial spokespersons for Christians. It shouldn't be like that, but it happens. Christianity has bullied, and forced itself upon people. Christians have tried to legislate morality. Christians have behaved completely opposite of Christ. I apologize for that to unbelievers, but I want you to remember that beneath everything, Chri...

Trust, Faith, or Fear?

Image
Deep down the reason that the majority of churches teach mixture is because they are scared to completely trust the Holy Spirit and Christ in someone. It leads   to a fear towards believing that someone actually has Christ in them and the Holy Spirit because they have become so focused on different external evidences and have based a true conversion by their own measurements and their own time frames. The evidence they do see, they question in fear, and it's a direct consequence of their own teachings. Their teachings make converts who learn to walk the walk, and talk the talk, but lack the substance. What they teach is not biblical, but they will manipulate scripture to support their teachings. They are filled with fear that if they taught Grace that people wouldn't measure up to their self imposed standards. Yet Grace is the only thing that will lead to a heart transplant. We know fear's place in Job's life and how satan was able to bring calamity into his lif...

Who's voice? His or darkness?

I wonder how many Christians would be surprised to find out that this "Holy Spirit conviction" that is making them feel like they don't measure up, that they are failing God, that they are not righteous, and that they can't do anything right by God, is actually the voice of the enemy?

I am responsible

No one can keep me down! I am responsible for my responses in life my attitudes and my decisions. Holy Spirit I ask for your help. You live in me and you are my Helper! I refuse to continue blaming others. I will respond to life with God's Word. I am responsible for my thoughts my actions and my REACTIONS. I abandon believing things are the fault of anyone else. I am more than a conqueror through God's great love.
