Snowflakes in the Desert

We used to share everything from a diamond to a rose,
and when somebody asked you, the love for me it showed.
Now that I feel the loss of you, I don’t have much of a clue,
My world is telling me all the wrong things to do.
I feel so confused, but you see something other than my words,
I float through a shiny window through a tapestry of birds.
If I knew, my life would be merry, I’d be so complete today,
But in this world I’m used to, the answer is the wrong thing to say.
My world is a desert with heat that never goes away,
I wake up to voices that blow my haze astray.
Did you know, your hair is like rain drops, your eyes can see right into my soul,
My soul is like a bed of flowers, but all you envision is musty coal.
We used to dream, so it seemed, about all the things we would try,
It seemed the only thing that we’d do right together was cry.
Then you walked, and you talked, so normal and routine, the sky got so cloudy, the wind came from nowhere, I remember a wondrous scene..….

When I think of you I see snowflakes fall from the sky, And floating through the desert sometimes I just wonder why, The visions I see are so clear, They bring tears, This reality doesn’t come as a surprise.

You made me become so empty in a dark shadowless time,
I grabbed and held the ladder that seemed to form in my mind.
When you trampled the flowers in my garden, I saw the malice in your step,
You tried to tear apart my gratitude to try to find where my heart was kept.
The situation surely did invite me, the taste of your dew excited me,
But the wall was built out of fears that came to a stop too quietly.
I heard a great explosion and I saw what could not return,
I remember picking up pictures of you and saw them one by one burn.
The look upon the waiter’s face, I knew then that it was too late,
I had no choice but to run against the Saints to escape.
I sometimes hear a voice calling, it sounds like the cries of my heart,
I know this has happened just once before in a story of love I played a passionate part.
Vengeance was heading to a place where a sunken ship laid,
I tried to warn you, but you didn’t hear me, forever a price must be paid.
When you cried, and you lied, so normal and routine, The sky got so cloudy, the wind came from nowhere, I remember an astonishing scene……
